World Bank Estimates Venezuela Quake Damage at $19.6 Billion

The twin earthquakes that hit Venezuela last month may have caused $19.6 billion in physical damage to buildings and infrastructure, or about 18% of gross domestic product, according to the World Bank.

The preliminary assessment puts the potential losses at a level equal to nearly a fifth of the country’s GDP, Bloomberg reported.
