India’s securities regulator has proposed letting domestic portfolio management service providers take short positions in equity derivatives for the first time, easing rules for professional money managers while tightening oversight of retail trading, according to Bloomberg.

The move would mark a change in India’s market rules as regulators seek to give portfolio managers more flexibility in derivatives trading.
