VTech Holdings chairman and group CEO Allan Wong said at a media Q&A that lower tariff pressure could have allowed products to be discounted in the current fiscal year depending on conditions, according to Ming Pao.
He said the Middle East conflict has lifted oil prices and rising chip demand from AI data centers has pushed up prices, raising VTech's costs. As a result, some product discounts in the current fiscal year may be smaller, and some items may even need price increases, which he said could affect sales to a certain extent.
