South Korea's KTC Seeks Antidumping Duties on Chinese Butyl Acrylate

According to Yonhap, South Korea's Korea Trade Commission (KTC) will ask South Korea's finance ministry to impose antidumping duties of 8.32% to 19.17% on Chinese butyl acrylate after concluding that the imports harmed the domestic industry. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said butyl acrylate is a key raw material used in paints and adhesives, and a ministry official said the commission found Chinese imports had been dumped at unfairly low prices during its 2024 investigation, causing damage to local producers. In its preliminary ruling on Feb. 12, the commission recommended provisional duties of 9.53% to 19.17%, which have been in place since April 22. Separately, the KTC has launched investigations into alleged dumping by Chinese producers of tin mills and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) suspension resin, with final decisions on those cases expected in April next year.
