Kazakhstan's government has approved rules for implementing a strategic digital mining program, granting companies eligibility for 10-year electricity quotas from energy producers at the highest rate. According to PANews, applicants must transfer part of their mined cryptocurrency to the Astana Hub autonomous cluster fund, after which the assets will be handed to a national investment company under the National Bank for trust management to help build the country's strategic crypto reserve.

Operators taking part in the program must submit applications through the E-licensing database for review by a special commission. If approved, digital miners must sign an agreement with the Astana Hub autonomous cluster fund within five business days and enter into a power purchase contract with an energy producer.
