Liang said DeepSeek does not pursue profit maximization and only seeks reasonable profit. He added that open source and low pricing are part of a restrained strategy aimed not at gaining more market share, but at increasing the probability of eventually achieving AGI.
He also said DeepSeek does not intend to become the next super app and will not treat 3D, video generation, or world models as its current main direction. On large-model competition, Liang said future gaps will mainly be reflected in cost, time, and user experience, with cost being the most important factor. He added that maintaining team stability is the company’s only non-negotiable issue.
