BNY Mellon Plans Tokenized U.S. Treasury Pilot on Private Blockchain This Year

BNY Mellon said it plans to launch pilot trading of tokenized U.S. Treasuries on its private blockchain by the end of this year and aims to offer tokenized Treasuries by the end of 2026. According to Odaily, the bank also targets 24/7 settlement for traditional and tokenized U.S. Treasuries in 2027. The bank said it facilitated after-hours U.S. Treasury trades earlier this year involving Ripple and OpenEden stablecoin issuers.
