According to Jin10, Japanese trading company Toyota Tsusho plans to invest a cumulative 1.2 trillion yen by March 2028 and aims to become the world's largest scrap metal recycling company. In India, Toyota Tsusho currently operates three vehicle recycling centers. As India becomes the world's third-largest auto market, demand for end-of-life vehicle recycling is expected to continue growing. Toyota Tsusho plans to double the number of staff it sends to India to about 100 and expand its local recycling center network. It also operates in Japan to extract rare metals from used batteries in equipment such as electric vehicles, and plans to expand that business to overseas markets including the United States.
