Strive Chairman and CEO Matt Cole said the Bitcoin treasury company is expanding its support beyond Bitcoin policy to open-source development. According to Foresight News, Strive will initially back Brink, an organization that supports Bitcoin Core and other key Bitcoin infrastructure developers.
Strive said the support does not come with any expectation of influence over technical decisions, governance, or protocol direction, and that funding should not be tied to influence claims. The company said institutions that benefit from Bitcoin should view support for the long-term health of its ecosystem as part of their fiduciary duty, and it called on treasury companies, ETF issuers, miners, exchanges, custodians, and financial institutions to share responsibility for maintaining the Bitcoin ecosystem.
