日本三井住友银行首席美国经济学家Joseph Lavorgna表示，如果通胀率不放缓，决策者将失去来之不易的信誉。
据金十数据报道，Lavorgna在一份报告中称，过去70年里，核心通胀率同比下降0.9%或以上的情况仅有六次，每次通胀放缓都因美联储正在收紧政策。
Lavorgna还说：“美联储等待的时间越长，利率不得不升至高于必要水平的概率就越大。这就是为什么以往有那么多紧缩周期以悲剧告终。沃什主席明白这一点。”
