HSBC: UK Inflation Shows Little Evidence of Indirect Energy Impact

HSBC economist Chris Hare said there is little evidence of indirect energy effects in UK inflation data, suggesting the Bank of England may keep rates unchanged next week and beyond. According to Jin10, he added that the first evidence of indirect energy effects would appear in food inflation, where inflation has eased, and that there is so far no evidence of higher wage and price setting. He also said recent oil and gas price gains over the past few weeks have added upside risks to the inflation outlook for the Bank of England.
