US CISA: Scams targeting crypto investors surge
2024-06-15 09:56:15
The U.S. cyber security and infrastructure security agency (CISA) issued a warning on June 12 about an increase in impersonation scams, often using "the names and titles of government employees." The CISA alert explains that its staff will never ask for telegraphic transfers "of cash, cryptocurrency, or the use of gift cards." If you suspect you are the target of impersonation scammers claiming to be CISA employees, please do not charge callers; make a note of the phone number that called you; hang up immediately and call CISA to verify contact details.
