Swiss wealth manager Lombard Odier said Hong Kong's new-share market has been strong over the past 18 months, with fundraising last year ranking behind only the U.S. and momentum continuing in the first half of this year, according to Ming Pao.
Hong Kong chief executive and head of North Asia Lau Chun-yan said that at the peak, IPOs could create a billionaire every week. He said the wealth generated by IPOs has become a large source of assets for wealth management, and that mainland China, with its vast market scale, will remain an important source of growth for the firm.
