A survey by MNEE Pay and YouGov found that 62% of U.S. stablecoin holders have converted stablecoins back into dollars because merchants would not accept them, while 84% said they would prioritize merchants that do accept stablecoins. According to Foresight News, 54% of respondents said they hold stablecoins for future spending.

The survey also highlighted a generational gap: 88% of crypto holders aged 18 to 34 said they hold stablecoins, compared with 15% among those aged 55 and older. The survey was conducted online in April 2026 and sampled 251 U.S. adults who hold any type of cryptocurrency, including 103 respondents who said they hold stablecoins.
