France's CMA CGM said it will impose an emergency fuel surcharge starting August 1 after hostile activity in the Strait of Hormuz escalated again. According to Jin10, the company said fuel prices rose sharply over the past few days, reversing the easing trend seen in recent weeks, and that fuel costs have increased significantly across all regions and routes, pushing up overall shipping costs. The surcharge will range from $65 to $165 per container and will remain in effect until further notice.
