Wistron jumps 9.7% after opening $700 million Texas AI server plant

According to CNBC, Wistron Corporation shares jumped 9.7% on Wednesday after the Taiwan-based technology service provider opened its first U.S. facility to build AI servers for Nvidia. The D1 AI smart facility is a $700 million, 324,000-square-foot site in Fort Worth, Texas, and currently produces Nvidia's GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip. Wistron said the plant will later expand to make Nvidia's Vera Rubin Superchip. Wistron Chairman Simon Lin said in a press release that the site will become one of the company's most important locations over the next couple of years as it builds AI infrastructure in the United States. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said demand for AI factories is incredible and that they need to be produced everywhere.
