China's Urban New Jobs Rise 6.95 Million in First Half of Year

According to Jin10, China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said 6.95 million new urban jobs were created nationwide in the first half of this year, flat year on year. The ministry held a press conference on the morning of July 22 and said the average urban surveyed unemployment rate was 5.2%, with employment remaining generally stable. From January to June, it also distributed 3.6 billion yuan in unemployment insurance job-retention refunds, 900 million yuan in one-time expansion subsidies, and 1.2 billion yuan in skills-upgrading subsidies.
