According to Yonhap, the number of listed companies involved in merger and acquisition deals fell from a year earlier in the first half of 2026, with 75 firms counted as of end-June, based on data from the Korea Securities Depository. The figure was down 2.6% from a year earlier.
By market, 22 of the firms were listed on the KOSPI and 53 were on the KOSDAQ. Total appraisal rights payments dropped 82.9% on year to 5.4 billion won ($3.6 million).
