U.S. officials said U.S. President Donald Trump has formally approved a major nuclear agreement with Saudi Arabia that would allow the kingdom to develop civilian nuclear projects and could open the door to uranium enrichment on its territory. According to Odaily, the 30-year deal is expected to be worth tens of billions of dollars and would give U.S. companies a leading role in building Saudi Arabia's nuclear infrastructure while excluding other foreign competitors.

One key provision says U.S. companies would build uranium enrichment facilities in Saudi Arabia if a joint U.S.-Saudi study determines they are needed. Trump administration officials said the move would allow the U.S. to retain influence over Saudi Arabia's nuclear program and reduce the risk that the technology is used for military purposes.

The agreement is expected to be sent to the U.S. Congress for review in the coming days and could face opposition from some lawmakers. Opponents said they are concerned about security risks tied to nuclear technology proliferation amid instability in the Middle East.
