Ramaphosa was re-elected as President of South Africa

On June 15, President Ramaphosa of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) was elected President of South Africa at the first session of the new National Assembly (the lower house of parliament) on the 14th and was re-elected. On the same day, the first session of the new National Assembly was held in Cape Town, the legislative capital of South Africa. The newly elected members voted for the president after electing the speaker and deputy speakers. Chief Justice Zondo of South Africa, who presided over the meeting, announced after the counting of votes that Ramaphosa received 283 votes. According to the voting results, Ramaphosa was elected President of South Africa.
