Russia’s State Duma passed a crypto market law that sets an annual limit of roughly $3,800 per intermediary for retail investors buying the most liquid cryptocurrencies through licensed intermediaries, while qualified investors may buy any crypto without restrictions. According to CoinDesk, the legislation creates a framework for exchanges, depositories and other digital asset providers, requires banks to block transfers tied to unauthorized exchanges, and keeps Russia’s ban on crypto payments for goods and services in place.
