According to CNBC, Americans will vote on 26 ballot initiatives tied to tax rates across 13 states in November, including measures that would roll back property taxes and one California proposal for a one-time 5% wealth tax on billionaire residents. The article said Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Tennessee and Wyoming all have property-tax-related proposals on the ballot, with some measures aimed at raising exemption thresholds, adding senior exemptions or prohibiting state property taxes entirely.

North Carolina Treasurer Brad Briner said municipalities have engaged in excessive property taxation and argued homeowners are being squeezed by existing budgets. Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan said Florida's proposed Amendment 3 would cut the city budget by one-third, while state and local officials in several states warned the measures could reduce revenue for schools, libraries, fire stations and other services.
