STOCKS | Whale Reopens Intel Long With 25,000 Shares Ahead of Earnings

Hyperinsight monitoring showed that the trader known as "U.S. stock trading king" reopened a long position in Intel on the evening of July 17 (last Friday, Beijing time), buying 25,000 shares in stages over about half an hour. According to Odaily, the position is held with 10x leverage at an average entry price of $94.57.

At the time of writing, Intel shares were up 5.95% on the day at $100.96. The whale’s position was worth about $2.524 million, with unrealized gains of about $159,700, a return of 67.56%, and a liquidation price of $89.69.

During an earlier market decline, the trader reduced a large position and shifted to Micron Technology. On July 8, the trader closed a previous 23,000-share Intel long at an average price of $105.31, booking a profit of about $920,300. After returning to the stock nine days later, the current position is 2,000 shares larger than the prior one.

The whale also continues to hold a Micron long position worth about $3.3782 million, with an average entry price of $505.30 and unrealized gains of about $1.4833 million. In addition, the trader has small long positions in two storage names: 250 shares of SanDisk, worth about $367,500, with an average price of $1,438.72 and unrealized gains of about $7,821; and 240 shares of SK Hynix, worth about $300,600, with an average price of $1,412.39 and unrealized losses of about $38,400.

Intel is scheduled to report second-quarter 2026 earnings after U.S. market close on July 23, which is early on July 24, Beijing time. The company previously forecast quarterly revenue of $13.8 billion to $14.8 billion and non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.20.
