UK PM Burnham Invites Zelensky to Visit Britain

According to Lianhe Zaobao citing BBC, UK Prime Minister Burnham on Monday, July 20, spoke by phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and reiterated his steadfast commitment to the people of Ukraine. A spokesperson said Burnham has invited Zelensky to arrange a visit to Britain as soon as possible. Burnham also spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron later that evening, discussing how to further strengthen UK-France ties as well as support for Ukraine, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and cooperation in energy and defense. Downing Street had earlier said Burnham told US President Donald Trump in a call that he hoped to have a chance to show Trump the “charm of Manchester.”
