A wave of retail investors in their 20s and early 30s is piling into tech shares as the AI boom drives sharp gains in markets from the US to South Korea, BBC reported. Michelle Huynh said her tech-stock holdings rose by A$31,000 by the middle of July before easing to about A$22,000, while Singaporean student Shyan Lim said 23,000 Singapore dollars invested in Intel and Micron in October are now worth about 100,000 Singapore dollars. South Korea’s Kospi has jumped more than 50% since January, though it has also swung sharply, including a fall from above 9,000 points in June to around 6,500, and trading has been halted seven times this year after an 8% drop. The story also noted SK Hynix’s $26.5bn New York listing earlier this month, the largest ever US listing by a foreign company.
