Kenya is investigating a hack of President William Ruto’s official website after attackers briefly disabled the site, altered the homepage, and demanded a ransom of 5 bitcoin.
According to Odaily, Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy William Kabogo said the ICT Authority immediately activated its cybersecurity response protocol and will temporarily restrict public access to the portal. Officials said there is no evidence that sensitive data was accessed without authorization, leaked, or lost, and that government systems and digital services remain secure and operational.
