Russell Fry enters South Carolina Senate special primary for Lindsey Graham's seat

According to CNBC, South Carolina Rep. Russell Fry said he will run in the special primary election for the U.S. Senate seat left open after the death of Lindsey Graham, with the primary set for Aug. 11. Fry's entry sets up an intraparty contest with Rep. Ralph Norman, while Darline Graham is considering whether to seek the Republican nomination after being appointed to the seat on an interim basis through year-end. Filing for the special primary opens at noon ET on Tuesday, and the winner will face Democrat Annie Andrews in the general election in November. Fry said South Carolina families are struggling with high gas prices and grocery costs, and that he would run as a conservative MAGA candidate. Mark Lynch and Duke Buckner have also entered the race.
