Informal suppliers selling peptide supplements directly to consumers without prescriptions or FDA approval received $32 million in cryptocurrency payments in the first quarter of 2026, up 700% from a year earlier. According to Foresight News, the annualized total for the sector has recently exceeded $100 million.

Banks and credit card firms have refused to serve these suppliers because of compliance risks, leading more sellers to accept only Bitcoin payments and drawing in consumers who had not previously used cryptocurrency. TRM Labs data also showed total cryptocurrency inflows for the sector reached $41.4 million in 2025, up 20% from a year earlier.
