According to CNBC, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said the planemaker will need a couple more years to repair its finances before launching a new commercial jet. He said Boeing must meet three conditions before starting a new aircraft program: get its financial house in order, have the technology ready and see sufficient market demand. Ortberg added that airline customers want Boeing to focus on improving the reliability and production of its current lineup, suggesting a new narrowbody aircraft is unlikely until later in the decade.
