According to IRNA, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf sent congratulatory letters to the speaker of Spain's Senate and the speaker of its lower house, congratulating Spain's national team on winning the 2026 World Cup. Ghalibaf said in the letters that Spain's support for the Palestinian people and Spain's support for Iran during the third imposed war showed the free spirit and refusal to submit to hegemony as important traits of the Spanish nation.
