On July 20, Wu Qing, Party secretary and chairman of China's Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), visited a securities branch in Beijing and chaired an investor roundtable, meeting face to face with eight representatives from retail and institutional investors, according to 36Kr. The CSRC said participants discussed measures to promote stable and healthy development of China's capital markets.

Investors said China's capital markets have generally improved since the implementation of the new 'Nine Measures,' and that recent volatility in A-shares, driven in part by external shocks, has not changed the long-term upward trend. They called for stronger countercyclical adjustments across primary and secondary markets, more steps to channel medium- and long-term funds into stocks, tighter rules on quantitative trading and AI use, higher dividend payouts from listed companies, and steeper penalties for securities violations and crimes.
