British AI startup CuspAI has raised nearly $500 million to use artificial intelligence to optimize materials discovery for advanced semiconductor production and other industries. According to ChainCatcher, the company also announced an AI Materials Foundry alliance with more than 48 technology companies, industrial firms, and research institutions, including Nvidia, Meta, and Hyundai Motor Group.
The alliance aims to combine members' computing power and research capabilities to develop AI software that can help researchers discover new materials for chip manufacturing at lower cost and faster speed. CuspAI said the effort is intended to improve materials research efficiency and accelerate innovation in advanced semiconductors and related industries.
