Gold Reclaims $4,000 As Oil Surge Revives Fed Hike Bets

Gold climbed back above $4,000 an ounce Monday after briefly slipping below the level, while Brent crude topped $90 a barrel and Federal Reserve officials pushed for a July rate hike. Gold fell 2.5% last week and COMEX speculators raised net long positions to 119,147 contracts in the week to July 14, according to BeInCrypto, as the US strike campaign against Iran and fresh attacks stoked inflation fears.
