According to Jin10, a securities analyst said the recent global sell-off in semiconductor stocks has gone far beyond what fundamentals reflect. Hana Securities researcher Lee Jaeman said the pullback in semiconductor shares appears excessive even after taking market concerns about cyclical swings in the sector into account.

He said the catalyst for a rebound in semiconductor company shares will be earnings reports from U.S. hyperscale cloud service providers, which are set to be released sequentially starting in late July. He added that the combined capital expenditure growth rate of Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon is expected to rise from 80% in the first quarter of 2026 to 83% in the second quarter and 92% in the third quarter. He also said semiconductor companies may be able to maintain high operating profit margins given rising investment demand.
