Kylian Mbappe became the first player to win the World Cup Golden Boot twice after finishing as top scorer at the 2026 tournament, Yahoo Sports reported. The France forward scored 10 goals in eight games to edge Lionel Messi, and he also became the men's World Cup all-time top scorer with 22 goals. Mbappe had previously won the Golden Boot at Qatar 2022 after scoring eight times, and he moved clear of Messi on Saturday with two goals in France's 6-4 defeat to England in the bronze match.
