U.S. Forces Find Remains Near Jordan Air Base After Iranian Missile Attack

According to Axios, U.S. forces found the remains of an unidentified service member near the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan after an Iranian missile attack that killed two American troops there. U.S. Central Command said the discovery came after a thorough search and that verification of the remains was still underway. CENTCOM also said a second service member was wounded and treated for a minor injury, and that it was withholding additional information, including identities, while families are notified. The disclosures brought the number of U.S. service members killed in the conflict to 18, after CENTCOM separately said an American service member was killed Saturday in northern Iraq during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone.
