According to CNBC, Kalshi said the 2026 FIFA World Cup brought in 3 million new users and pushed more than $1.2 billion in trading volume on its World Cup contracts, a record for a single market. The company said that market will close on Sunday after Spain and Argentina play in the final, and it has used the tournament to expand its brand through stadium co-branding ads with ADI Predictstreet, a partnership with OpenAI to surface contract odds in ChatGPT searches, and campaigns featuring Luka Modric, José Mourinho, the Argentina national team, Timothee Chalamet and J Balvin. Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour said volumes were the main focus of the World Cup campaign and that one ad featuring former professional soccer players was conceived, executed and released in 24 hours. The company now faces the challenge of turning those new users into recurring traders, as volumes on non-match days have been much lower.
