According to CNBC, Samsung Electronics has cut jobs across its U.S. display, phone and other consumer electronics operations, with workers mainly affected in New Jersey and Texas. Samsung Electronics America said 739 roles in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, were affected by plans to move its headquarters to Texas, while about 100 workers at its Plano, Texas office, including staff in the mobile division, were also let go. The company said a majority of those affected received relocation offers, but others were dismissed. Documents reviewed by Reuters showed some employees were notified on June 30 of an enterprise-wide reduction in force, and LinkedIn posts indicated more than 30 workers had been let go or left over the past couple of weeks.
