Bitcoin developer Leonidas’ alternative client DOG Mode is challenging Bitcoin Core’s default relay policies, reopening debate over censorship, free markets and who governs the network. According to CoinDesk, DOG Mode does not change Bitcoin’s consensus rules; it targets the settings that determine which valid transactions node software forwards, a move that could widen mempool fragmentation and make non-standard transactions easier to relay.
