France and Germany said on Friday they will study developing a Europe-controlled military software alternative to replace software provided by U.S. company Palantir. According to Jin10, France's domestic intelligence agency announced in June that it would end its contract with Palantir, while Germany's intelligence agency chose the French alternative ChapsVision.
After talks between French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the two countries said in a joint statement that they will study the development of European-controlled digital infrastructure to promote data sovereignty and will consider their capabilities in data-centric security, artificial intelligence, and cloud solutions. The statement cited France's Arcadia project as an example and also referred to a similar German solution.
