Hyperliquid co-founder Jeff Yan said one of the biggest problems facing the crypto and fintech sectors is their failure to attract enough top startup talent. According to ChainCatcher, Yan said many of the best young people are unsure which fields can create the most value amid the AI boom and social status considerations, leaving relatively few to enter crypto.
Yan added that rebuilding the financial system from first principles and turning academic theory into scalable market design is meaningful work. He urged young founders to focus on the real problems the world faces rather than surface-level value and to take part in the development and innovation of onchain finance.
