According to Lianhe Zaobao citing Reuters, a fire in a residential area near the southern Norwegian city of Drammen destroyed more than 100 homes after strong winds hampered firefighters' efforts to contain the blaze. Rescue officials said there were no reports of deaths or missing people.
The fire broke out in a row-house neighborhood, with thick black smoke covering the area. More than 60 firefighters were deployed, along with helicopters for water drops, and police evacuated several hundred people after the fire continued burning and spread into nearby forest. The cause and point of origin remain unclear.
