A diarrhea-causing parasite has infected people in at least 34 states in recent weeks, according to Bloomberg.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed 1,644 cases nationwide through laboratory tests since May 1 and is aware of more than 5,100 additional cases that still need to be analyzed, far above the 249 cases reported nationally by this time last year.
