Foundry said it will decide whether to support Bitcoin soft fork proposal BIP-110 through a hashrate-weighted vote by mining pool account holders. According to PANews, the vote will be weighted by each account's average hashrate over the past 10 days.
If support exceeds 51% of the hashrate participating in the vote, Foundry will send support signals in all blocks it produces. If support does not exceed 51%, it will continue not sending support signals, and accounts that do not vote will be treated as opposing votes by default.
BIP-110 aims to limit the storage size of non-monetary data in Bitcoin transactions, such as OP_RETURN.
