China's State Administration of Foreign Exchange said it has stepped up supervision of the foreign exchange market and is cracking down on illegal foreign exchange activities, including underground banks. According to Jin10, Vice Minister Li Bin said at a State Council Information Office press briefing that more than 300 related cases were handled in the first half of this year, with fines and confiscations totaling more than 400 million yuan, helping maintain order in the foreign exchange market.
