The Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (OJK) took over the regulation of the cryptocurrency industry from commodity institution Bappebti in January 2025. Cryptocurrency companies must pass assessments by new regulatory agencies in a sandbox environment before they can be allowed to operate in the country.
