By January 2022, the US had become the global leader in hash rate, according to Cambridge University. Now countries in South East Asia are also on the rise. Malaysia is among the top 10 countries, contributing 2.5 per cent of the world's hash rate, according to Cambridge University.
Alexander Neumüller, head of research at the University of Cambridge, said the preliminary results of recent mining research suggested that mining activity in Indonesia would rise significantly in 2022, reaching "low to mid-single-digit percentages".
