According to CNBC, Taiwan Semiconductor reported second-quarter earnings that rose 77% year over year and raised its full-year spending outlook, while ASML posted second-quarter results that topped analyst expectations. U.S.-listed shares of Taiwan Semiconductor fell 3% before the bell Thursday, and ASML's Amsterdam-listed stock also closed slightly lower on Wednesday. Adam Crisafulli, founder of Vital Knowledge, said traders were disappointed with some parts of Taiwan Semiconductor's report and were questioning the impact of another capex budget increase. Wells Fargo's trading desk pointed to low North America extreme ultraviolet lithography capacity for fiscal 2027 as a weak spot in ASML's results.
