Goalkeeper Craig Gordon has retired from football after a 25-year playing career, ending his second spell at Heart of Midlothian after leaving the club this summer. Gordon, 43, was part of Scotland's World Cup squad, and Yahoo Sports reported that his last appearance came in Scotland's pre-World Cup win over Curacao in May.
Gordon made 84 senior appearances for Scotland and 766 first-team appearances overall, including 13 loan games for Cowdenbeath in 2001-02. He won league, cup and championship honours with Hearts and Celtic, and is expected to bid farewell to the Hearts support at Friday's friendly with Rayo Vallecano at Tynecastle.
