After the UwU Lend attackers failed to return the funds, the protocol is making another move to find the hackers. According to Input Data Message (IDM) on Ethereum, UwU Lend has set up an ETH bounty worth $5 million for the "first person to identify and find" the exploiter, adding that "no funds or fees will be recovered".
Previously, the agreement had discussed the creation of bounties directly with the exploiters. Attackers could keep 20 per cent of what they stole as long as they returned 80 per cent. If the exploiters complied, the agreement said it would not pursue the matter further and would not involve law enforcement. The attackers had until 1pm ET on Wednesday to return the funds. But in a message sent to the attackers on Thursday, UwU Lend wrote that "the repayment period for the funds you stole has expired."
